The Bethany, a historic chapel in Cardiff City Centre, was hidden for decades within the Howells Department Store. Following the store’s closure in the early 2020s, plans emerged to restore and transform the site into a vibrant community hub. The Bethany Studio aims to preserve its architectural heritage while introducing modern functionality and sustainable aesthetics. Designed as an open, accessible social space, it celebrates creativity and provides a central venue for cultural activities, reconnecting Cardiff residents and visitors with its rich history.
